Gardia Hotel, Golden Sands, Bulgaria

The Gardia Hotel is a three star property situated only 400 metres from the beach in Golden Sands, Bulgaria. Once popular with families and couples alike, the hotel has unfortunately been getting very negative reviews recently from its past guests. Bulgaria doesn't tend to be a destination that people would consider for their holidays unless they have been here before; therefore the Country isn't all that popular as yet.  However if you ever do have the opportunity to travel to this beautiful part of the world, don't let this property put you off as you will not be disappointed.

The Gardia Hotel lies in a peaceful spot and boasts some of the most impressive views. Guests have use of a restaurant, lobby bar, sky bar and karaoke bar; there is an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, sauna, children's play area, souvenir shop, Internet access and dry cleaning service. The rooms have all the necessary amenities and the staff are relatively friendly. However, the standards of cleanliness are said to be appalling.

Having researched into the reviews of this particular property, I can say that holidaymakers should avoid staying here at all costs. Many previous guests state that throughout their two week stay, not once did a maid visit there room. Another review mentions the 'cold' and 'repetitive' food that is served here, which is unpractical considering this hotel is based on a half board basis.  Along with the other complaints of a foul smell coming from the drains and the continuous 'sorry we have no change' quote from a particular member of staff at the bar, I think it safe to say that the Gardia Hotel is a hotel best avoided when looking for your next getaway.
