Finding the best holiday offers can often seem quite overwhelming. Booking a holiday is typically one of the largest single purchases made during the year, so knowing how to get the best for your money is vital. Online search can lead to a huge amount of results from thousands of different sites, so how do you know which offer is the best? Our suggestion is be precise, do your research and refine your search based on the destinations and time of year.
In recent years the trend has been towards bespoke holidays, booking flights and hotels separately. However, the recent global down turn has led to a change in consumer habits with the average amount spent n a summer holiday falling this year. So package holiday are back in vogue, for the same reason they became popular about twenty years ago when people realised that bundling together flights, hotel accommodation and transfers could save them a considerable amount of money.
These deals can be great news, but some further research into the company is a good plan, and remember the one disadvantage of package deals is that you're paying less because you're sacrificing the flexibility of your holiday. They might not work well if you're the sort of spontaneous person who likes to change plans halfway through a trip.
This year you can find great holiday offers on whatever type of holiday you are after just by travelling at the best time of year. January-May, September and October are prime times to find great deals. These months are often considered by many resorts to be out of season. Be careful though, while a good out of season deal could mean saving money and beating the crowds, you need to make sure the both the weather is good and the resort still has all of its facilities open. You can also catch some great holiday offers just by booking at the last minute deals. Last minute generally means within two weeks. This is a great option for those people who have fewer responsibilities and can simply choose a destination and go. The strengthening euro has led to weakened demand in the eurozone and there are some excellent holiday offers within the traditional European destinations such a spain and Greece. Bulgaria offers excellent value and Turkey has grown in popularity. You could look further field to North Africa, such as Morocco or Egypt.
