Holidays 2009. The recession has been cutting deep into everyone's pockets and it seems that with every bit of good news about the economy, there are ten more people ready to predict job cuts, unemployment and reductions in spending. Holidays this year might seem like the last thing you might be thinking about, especially as they are generally seen as a luxury that can be cut out to save some extra cash. However, this year may well be the best ever to take a trip and as the trends suggest, holidays appear to be one luxury we not are prepared to give up.

The weakened pound and the trend to travel to destinations outside of the euro zone has seen a reduction prices for flights and hotels in order to stimulate demand. So holidays 2009 are shaping up to be the best year yet to grab a bargain. Did you know that packages and family holidays have never been cheaper? The recession has actually produced cheaper holidays as hotels and airlines race to win customers over with cheaper and cheaper packages. As is normally the case with a price war, it's consumers that end up winning - providing they can hunt out all of the best deals!

While you might have to pay more and get less in other industries, the same hasn't applied to tourism. 2009 is set to one of the best years yet to get away, and what better excuse to fly to another country than to escape all of the economic doom and gloom in the UK? There's still plenty of time left for holidays 2009 summer season has only just begun and even if you can't find the time during the summer, there are always winter holidays and romantic city breaks that can be considered. Some of the most popular destinations outside the eurozone include ; Turkey, Morocco and Egypt, with destinations within the eurozone such as Bulgaria proving to still offer significant value. Spain still remains one of the most popular destinations.

As the economy begins to even out, it's likely we'll see fares and hotels raising their prices accordingly with the amount of people that are beginning to start thinking about holidays again. If you can beat this price hike you could end up saving potentially hundreds of pounds on a family getaway, so don't count out holiday this year yet!
