The island has a wide range of shops and even better, Lanzarote is totally duty free so prices on things like cigarettes and alcohol are much cheaper than elsewhere in Europe. Many towns have both traditional markets and modern retail stores available so you’ll be spoilt for choice if you decide to spend the day on some retail therapy.

If you want some time away from the beaches, holidays to Lanzarote can also provide a great sightseeing experience, especially if you’re into dramatic and unique scenery. Timanfaya national park consists of a strange, volcanic but beautiful landscape, while the local buildings and small towns provide some great insights on the culture of the island.
