Across the UK, July is vastly considered to be the most popular month of the year for taking a holiday. It’s most popular with families, especially those with younger children. July is one of only two months you can guarantee that your kids will be off school for the whole time, making it much easier to book July holidays than it is to book one in September or March when their school years is still in full swing.

It’s also a great time to have a break for people who have been working as going on holiday in the middle of the year can not only wash away the stress of the last six months but also renew your energy to get through work until Christmas!

Because July holidays are so popular, it’s highly recommended that you book your trip far in advance. There’s nothing more disappointing than planning a dream holiday and finding out there any no spaces left at the resort. Booking in advance can also save you money off July prices, which are typically higher than the rest of the year due to the overwhelming demand. A good tactic is to book your July holidays towards the middle or the end of the month instead of trying to go just as the summer holidays start.

One of the important things to keep in mind when booking July holidays is the temperature. Rather than worrying if a resort might be too cold like you might do when booking out of season, you need to think about whether your destination will be too hot! Countries like Egypt can easily reach way above 30 degrees in July. If you’re not used to the heat, we recommend a cooler destination for your July journeys, such as Spain, the Spanish islands, Cyprus and the Canaries, which will all be very warm but not so hot you won’t feel like getting up in the morning!
