March holidays offer some of the best times in the year to get away to somewhere sunny. March is a perfect month for holidays because it’s when many destinations are starting to warm up and open their doors but they haven’t got the crowds in yet.
If you’re fed up of holidays where it’s simply too hot and you can barely move on the beach for the amount of people, March holidays may be just what you are looking for. Popular holidays include trips to Cyprus, the Canaries of Portugal where the temperature is just beginning to rise. If you really want to chase the heat you can enjoy Egypt, Africa and the Caribbean at a time when it will be very warm without reaching the incredibly high 40 degrees they can reach during the summer. If you’re looking for something even more exotic, cruises are also popular in March, especially around the Hawaiian Islands or Mexico.
Activity, sightseeing and walking holidays are also great options for March holidays thanks to the varied temperature. Nobody wants to trek through a country looking at the sites in the summer heat, but in many countries March is simply a pleasant month where you can explore everything a country has to offer without worrying about getting too wet or too hot! If you love walking, hiking or cycling on your breaks then March holidays are just about your best bet.
For similar reasons, city breaks are also great to take in March. Often, children are on Easter holidays during the month so a March holiday could involve a short trip to a big city like New York or – if you want to stay a little closer to home – Paris. These destinations may not always enjoy warm sunny weather in March but they have so much to do and are so easy to travel to they make great short trips that can be taken easily.
