Why not take a trip in October? It may seem like a strange time of year to be travelling, but falling after the summer holidays and before the Christmas break, October is one of the best times to get away in the later part of the year. Prices are generally good all month but if you’re looking for a real bargain try to get away outside the half term break. This can change depending on the school but you should be able to find online when most schools are on a break and try to plan a holiday away from this period to save a lot of cash.

October holidays are great for taking exotic trips to countries like Africa and Egypt. These places can offer a mix of the both a standard resort holiday and a slightly more unique sightseeing holiday. If you want to go into more southern Africa you could even consider jungle tours or a Safari – something a little different. The great thing about any trip to Africa is that it’s hot all year round, so you don’t have to worry at all about the weather. With long, hot days and cool nights, the weather on the continent couldn’t be much different from the wind, rain and darkness we suffer with from September onwards.

If a trip into the exotic isn’t really your thing, October is a great time to visit some of the world’s most vibrant cities. These breaks can be perfect for busy people as you can organise exactly what you want to do over a long weekend and you only need to take a few days off work to enjoy an exciting holiday where you really get to immerse yourself in another country. October is great for going to just about any city in the world as you’ll avoid the holiday crowds of summer and the busy Christmas period.
